MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA – Emergency crews responded to a fatality crash Sunday morning in west-central Plymouth County, reports WCVB 5 News.
The accident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. along Marion Road in the city of Middleborough, which is about 42 miles south of Boston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle carrying two people left the roadway and hit a tree. The driver became trapped in the vehicle and required extrication.
Medics transported both people in the vehicle to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver died sometime after transport. Authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s name but say he was an 18-year-old from Bridgewater.
It’s not yet known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the wreck.
