NORTHBOROUGH, MA – Two people were hurt last Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash caused by a drowsy driver in east-central Worcester County, reports Boston 25 News.
The accident occurred shortly after 7:15 a.m. on the westbound side of I-290 near exit 27, between Green Street and Church Street. This is about 45 minutes west of Boston.
Police say that two vehicles collided and overturned after one of the drivers fell asleep and lost control of their car.
Medics transported both drivers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The wreck caused rush hour delays, as officials closed at least two lanes of I-290 westbound while crews worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
