STONEHAM, MA – Emergency teams responded to a major collision along the interstate in southeast Middlesex County on Friday.
According to NBC 10 Boston, the accident happened in the afternoon on the northbound side of I-93 near Exit 25. This is in south-central Stoneham, about 10 miles northwest of Boston.
Police haven’t commented on the cause of the wreck. They say two trucks and three passenger vehicles were involved. One of the trucks overturned during the crash, causing a fuel spill along the interstate.
It’s not yet clear how many people were hurt in the collision.
Officials closed the northbound side of I-93 in the area of the accident while crews attended to victims and worked to clear the scene.
