The accident happened on Thursday, February 20th, shortly before 10 a.m. on I-93 northbound before the intersection with I-95 in Woburn. This is about 12 miles northwest of Boston.
Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the wreck, which they say involved four vehicles. The box truck overturned, and at least two people became entrapped in their vehicles.
Medics transported four people to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Officials closed several northbound lanes for around three hours while crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
