PALMER, MA – One person sustained critical injuries Thursday in a collision along a major roadway in northeast Hampden County, reports Western Mass News.
The accident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. along Boston Road, which runs east to west on the west side of the city of Palmer. Officials have not provided a cross street for the wreck.
Details of the crash remain limited. It’s not yet clear what caused the collision or how many vehicles may have been involved.
Medics airlifted one victim to an area hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
Officials closed a large section of Boston Road while emergency teams attended to the victim and crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
