Recently our workers’ compensation attorneys were able to settle a case for a client who sustained a work injury. Our client was injured while working. He was throwing out some items into a dumpster when the top of the dumpster struck our client in the head. He suffered personal injuries as a result of this incident.
He required medical attention and he would be diagnosed with a concussion. Our client was unable to go to work and the workers comp insurance company began paying his medical bills as well as his lost wages.
During this time he continued to receive medical attention for his head injury. Eventually the insurer agreed to resolve the case for a confidential amount. This was done through a lump sum settlement. It was settled ‘with liability’ meaning the insurer was required to pay for all reasonable, necessary and related medical treatment our client needs for the rest of his life stemming from the work accident.
