Soft Tissue Injuries
Massachusetts Car Crash Lawyers
As Massachusetts car crash lawyers, we have many clients that have experienced soft tissue injuries following their accident. Typically it is the back and neck that is more susceptible to soft tissue injuries, and these make up the majority of claims that are filed. Soft tissue injuries are quite common following a personal injury event. They can range from mild, to very severe. They are much less serious than other injuries such as fractures, dislocations, etc. However, they can be quite painful and can take time to resolve fully. They are far and away the most common type of injury sustained by personal injury victims.
Common Causes of Soft Tissue Injuries
Soft tissue injuries are quite common following car accidents. Besides car accidents, soft tissue injuries typically arise from workers compensation accidents, bicycle accidents, pedestrian accidents and from slip and falls. These are just some of the ways in which this type of injury can happen.
What is a Soft Tissue Injury?
Briefly stated – for I am most definitely not a doctor – soft tissue injuries include injuries to the soft tissue areas of the body that include the epithelial, muscular, nervous, and connective tissues. Whiplash is a common soft tissue injury from a car accident. Sometimes it takes a few days to feel these types of injuries.
Soft tissue injuries include sprains, strains, subluxation (misalignment of spinal vertebrae), repetitive stress injury, carpel tunnel syndrome, etc. These injuries can cause the body great pain and disability.
In my personal injury practice, many of my clients who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents, as well as other accidents, usually experience the pain and discomfort of soft tissue injuries.
Insurance adjusters try to downplay the impact and resulting pain of soft tissue injuries. That is rubbish. They know – assuming of course they have had a soft tissue injury – that it can be very debilitating.
As Massachusetts car crash lawyers we help people who sustained soft tissue injuries. Our job is to get for our clients full and fair compensation for their soft tissue injuries.
Insurance companies love to argue that neck strain/sprain and back strain/sprain injuries are not very serious. The fact is that these injuries can be quite serious. Often they require medical treatment, and may even force the individual to lose time from work.
